-GC modifier

With the EHR, adding the GC modifier is now the Teaching Physician's responsibility. They aren't that good at remembering to do this. What would happen if they don't?
Thanks

  • Then only the physician's documentation is allowed to count towards a level of care. Because, according to the claim that lacks the modifier GC, this wasn't a teaching service.

  • Several things will happen if they don't:

    1. The US general election in November will be challenged, regardless of who wins
    2. The Dala Lama will say a naughty word
    3. An auditor will only look at the notes from the doctor and no one else if it is audited.

  • Thanks for the much-needed smile, Don ☺
