I am a volunteer at a local hospital 1 day a week and I'm working with them
to develop a Patient Advocacy Program.



The Patient Experience part of the CMS Star Rating System for hospitals is
just one of 7 categories or areas rated, the rest would be handled elsewhere
in the organization.



Is there anyone on the list who is familiar with this and can tell me if
their hospital set up a special department, group, etc to gather / manage /
oversee the information for the star rating system?



The information I am working with is from 2015. The work I am doing
currently will affect the 4th quarter of 2016. To help the hospital prepare
for data collection in 2017, I want to be able to give some sound advice,
keeping in perspective I am a volunteer :)



The rating system affects the hospital payments and I believe there would be
an assigned department that would actively work the 7 categories to increase
the hospital's chances of a higher rating.
