Medicare Advantage Beneficiary Services - Home Visits by Nurse and Lab Orders
One of the MA plans is offering their members home visits by a nurse. The nurse performs many of the same services that patients receive with they see their primary care physician for an annual wellness visit. Many of these patient then decline to see their PCP for an annual visit because the services are redundant. Some of the services the MA nurses are providing are Labs for microalbumin urine screening and A1c's. My question is... how can the MA plans offer these lab services, without an order from a physician?
