ASC facility and CPT 67218

Hello-

I hope I can get a response to this. CPT 67218 includes the removal of the source of radiation (typically a few days after the implantation). Since the removal is included in the CPT code, when the removal occurs, and anesthesia is induced, is the anesthesia separately billable? My gut says yes, but need some concurrence from the experts. Please and thank you.

    Anesthesia codes do not usually have any global period attached to them and this should get paid as long as the anesthesia is considered medically necessary by the payer.
