Is anyone having problems getting paid by Mcare when submitting claims for the Flu Vac. We are and we have tried three different codes and get them rejected. We have used Q2036, Q2038 and 90658, which we realized we shouldn't and change it to what we thought was the appropriate Q code but still got rejections from Mcare. If anyone out there could please help as to just what Q code we are to use, it would be greatly appreciated.

Which vaccine are you giving? If it's the high dose there is 90662 or if Flu Ad the code is 90653
The codes all depend on which vaccine they are getting.

We use Fluvirin and bill Q2037 and G0008 for admin - no problem getting paid from Medicare

We also use Fluvirin Q2037 and G0008, no issues with payment but codes depend on what is being given

Why are they being denied? If it’s for frequency, then it doesn’t matter which code you use, you won’t get paid unless there are extenuating circumstances.
